Global traffic technology market gets served with two events in May
With two Intertraffic events in one month, traffic professionals from around the globe have ample opportunity to see the latest products and solutions within their field, as well as learn from other experts. Offering added value to visitors and exhibitors, Intertraffic is introducing a number of new initiatives during Intertraffic China and Intertraffic Istanbul. Intertraffic China takes place from 4-6 May in Shanghai, swiftly followed by Intertraffic Istanbul staged from 24-26 May at the Istanbul Expo Center.
Intertraffic China
This year’s event will occupy two halls at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC) totalling nearly 22,000 square meters of show floor surface with around 200 national and international exhibitors. A matchmaking programme for visitors and exhibitors alike to optimise business opportunities will be introduced this year, as well as a field trip to the test area of autonomous cars (A Nice City project) in Shanghai. Strategic topics and best practises are incorporated in the seminar programme, with presentations on topics such as how to do business in China, China’s auto industry in the age of disruption and predictive marketing cloud, big data solution for smart marketing in automotive industry. In a country where the possibilities within traffic technology and mobility seem endless, the side initiatives neatly complement the traditional exhibition.
Exhibition Director Intertraffic China, Editha Hoogenberg-Derksen, adds “We endeavour to connect as many international and Chinese professionals as possible. A dedicated seminar about how to do business in China followed by a guided tour, including Chinese companies looking for export partners, should provide fruitful opportunities. I am also really enthusiastic about the field trip scheduled. China has made “intelligent connected cars” a key direction of its 2025 roadmap to manufacturing upgrades. And this project called “A Nice City” is set in the Jiading District, home to nearly 70 percent of the city’s car manufacturing, and 80 percent automotive research and development.”
Intertraffic China is organised by RAI Amsterdam together with its regional partner Transport Technology Exchange Center (TTEC) and ITS China.
Intertraffic Istanbul
The Intertraffic event in Istanbul, held at the Istanbul Expo Center in cooperation with regional partner UBM NTSR, has a strong focus on the Eurasian and MENA region. Alongside the exhibition, Intertraffic Istanbul offers an action packed conference and workshop programme. AUSDER will provide multiple conferences on subjects such as big data and projects on Turkey. Moreover, Carlo van de Weijer, Director Strategic Area Smart Mobility of the Eindhoven University of Technology, will present on the Future of Mobility: a disrupted market and its impact on cities and society. The International Road Federation (IRF) will run workshops on smart solutions for safer mobility, successfully deploying automated speed enforcement programmes, roadway analytics, and one dedicated to the latest developments on connected and cooperative vehicles, vehicle-to-infrastructure, and vehicle-to-vehicle communications, and the rise of disruptive technologies in transportation.
Exhibition Director Intertraffic Istanbul, Joyce de Winter, adds “Istanbul forms a perfect hub between Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, which can be seen in the numerous nationalities in attendance. Apart from the exhibition and a top notch content programme with a broad variety of topics, we will also be acknowledging outstanding products and projects with the introduction of an Intertraffic Award for the Istanbul event.”
